Highland House Bed & Breakfast

Just upriver from Louisville, on the banks of the Ohio in Carrollton, Ky., Highland House Bed & Breakfast welcomes guests in a 1920s tobacco magnate’s mansion known then as Richlawn.

Highland House offers five acres of gardens to delight the senses, complete with walking paths and secluded benches. Today the home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Innkeepers Don and Ruth Mougey bought the property in 1996 and restored the home, furnishing it with antiques from the late 1800s and early 1900s.
