Boone Gardiner Garden Center

Boone Gardiner is the Louisville area’s oldest nursery/garden center, and among the founders of the industry in Kentucky. The Gardiner family’s history in the gardening business predates their arrival in Maryland from Britain. F. Boone Gardiner and his brother moved to Fairfield, KY and established Gardiner Brothers Nursery. In 1899, Boone purchased Fondavera, now Gardiner Lane, and turned his small nursery business into Boone Gardiner Garden Center.

In 1985 Boone Gardiner moved to Shelbyville Road and Hurstbourne Lane, where it merged with a second family business, Gardiner Landscape Company. The 60 acres consisted of the landscape business, nursery, garden center and more.

Today Boone Gardiner Garden Center is located in Crestwood, KY, and is run by Matt Gardiner (fourth generation) and his wife Hope. The move to this new, fourth location has afforded the business a progressive, design-oriented facility for comfortable and enjoyable shopping.
