Tod Browning is best known as the legendary director of the original Dracula film starring Bela Lugosi.
A Louisville native, Charles Albert “Tod” Browning Jr. produced and directed many influential films that dealt with underworld crime, children’s stories, women’s rights, and most notably the macabre. The controversial cult film Freaks (1932) is considered by many to be his masterpiece.
