Louisville Life takes on the weird, wild and unusual as the River City prepares to celebrate Halloween.

Feature: Weird is wonderful in a new book called Weird Kentucky. Meet the author, Jeffrey Scott Holland, and learn how he detailed the commonwealth’s strange notables, including the Pope Lick Goatman; giant Jim Porter and the day it rained meat in Kentucky.

Guest: Safe Places provide immediate help and safety for young people in crisis. The National Safe Place, which started in Louisville, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Candyce sits down with Sandy Bowen, executive director of Safe Place, to talk about the organization's vital presence in Louisville.

Louise Cecil

Around Town: We trek to two unique stops that help dress up Louisville: Leatherhead on trendy Bardstown Road and Louise Cecil Costume Sales and Rental, located downtown. The first turns out unique leather goods that are favorites among celebrities; the other is a repository of thousands of custom costumes, each with a unique story.

Etc.: Dracula is a popular tradition for local theatergoers and is synonymous with the critically-acclaimed Actors Theatre of Louisville. We take a peek behind the historical curtain of this regional theatre giant.
