In Performance at the Governor's Mansion
A showcase of Kentucky’s best and brightest performers, featuring music, dance, dramatic readings, poetry, and more.
The Kentucky Opera

The Kentucky Opera, State Opera of Kentucky, was founded in 1952 in Louisville by Moritz von Bombard. The company produces a full schedule of grand opera out of the Kentucky Center for the Arts and complements its performing schedule with a school/outreach program.

For the In Performance “Derby Gala,” KOA singers performed excerpts from Verdi’s La Traviata with the Louisville Orchestra. Featured performers were Melinda Cumberledge and Charles Davidson.

The Kentucky Opera is also the subject of a KET Electronic Field Trip.
