In Performance at the Governor's Mansion
A showcase of Kentucky’s best and brightest performers, featuring music, dance, dramatic readings, poetry, and more.
Vertrelle Cameron-Mickens

Hailed as “a soprano for all seasons,” Vertrelle Cameron-Mickens has performed in London, Madrid, Barcelona, and Leipzig, ranging over the works of Verdi, Bach, Joplin, and Handel. She also has been a Lyman T. Johnson Fellow at the University of Kentucky.

For In Performance, she sang a gospel song with the SCAPA Chamber Ensemble and, accompanied by the Lexington Philharmonic, performed “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of composer George Gershwin.
