Pianist Orville Hammond performs everything from jazz standards to his own compositions. His work is influenced by the reggae and Calypso of his Caribbean heritage as well as classical, Top 40, and show tunes.
Based in Lexington, Hammond has toured extensively throughout the U.S., Europe, and South America. He has been awarded an Al Smith Fellowship in music from the Kentucky Arts Council and participates in the council’s touring program.
The trio featured on In Performance also includes bassist Eddie Brookshire of Lexington and drummer Jason Tiemann of Louisville.
