Denise J. Gordon worked as a choreographer, dancer, teacher, and director for such Louisville modern dance companies as Afterimages and Art! Art! Barking Dog Dance Company before forming her own company. For In Performance, the Gordon Dance Project performed “Pavane" as part of “The Kentucky Collage." The piece was choreographed by Gordon with Alan Lommasson, who choreographs and dances with Art! Art! and has received an Al Smith Fellowship in choreography from the Kentucky Arts Council.
