Louisville Rowing Club
Why is rowing one of the fastest-growing sports around? The members of the Louisville Rowing Club, which includes people of all skill levels from age 14 on up, will give you a variety of good reasons.
Because rowing uses all the major muscle groups, it provides a superb workout. It also offers a chance to form some great friendships. And it can be as challenging as you want to make it. The rowing experiences offered by the LRC include introductory lessons, recreational workouts in teams with fellow members, leisurely weekend group outings, single and double sculling, and competitive racing at regattas. It also operates an adaptive rowing program, which offers training and rowing opportunities to individuals with various types of disabilities.
In September 2007, the LRC’s adaptive rowers participated in the Bayada Regatta in Philadelphia. A Louisville rower received either 1st or 2nd place in every race in which the club participated, and the team brought home five gold and five silver medals in all.
