YERT (Your Environmental Road Trip)

In this segment, "Louisville Life" introduces Ben Evans, founder of YERT (Your Environmental Road Trip), an eco-expedition that traveled through all 50 United States in one year. With video camera in hand, they explored the landscape of America's unique approach to environmental sustainability.

One outcome of this ecological exploration is a film.

Ben Evans was raised in Kansas and New Jersey; he graduated from Stanford University in 1994.

After working for a Bay Area graphics software company for two years, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. In the fall of 2001, that career carried Ben to New York City, where he now lived and worked for a time.

Ben's passion for the environment led Ben to help found the YERT team.

After his wife and fellow YERT team member Julie Dingman Evans became pregnant, the couple decided to move to Louisville.

Julie was raised here in Kentucky.
