Denny Crum

Coach Denny Crum may have been replaced by Rick Pitino, but his name is on the court where the University of Louisville basketball teams play their home games ... and his legend is intact.

Born Denzil E. Crum, Denny was the head menís basketball coach at U†of†L from 1971 to 2001, leading the Cardinals to two NCAA championships (1980, 1986). He also guided the Cards to a total of six Final Fours. In 1994, Crum was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Before moving to Louisville, Crum served as an assistant to the legendary John Wooden at his alma mater, UCLA. Before that, Crum attended and played for Los Angeles Pierce College, where he was a member of the schoolís Athletic Hall of Fame.

Crum currently co-hosts a radio talk show with former University of Kentucky head coach (and U†of†L archrival) Joe B. Hall. He and his wife, Susan Sweeney Crum, live in Louisville.
