Jeneen Wiche, a native of Louisville, started gardening as soon as she could walk. But it didn’t become her profession until after her father, the late Fred Wiche, died of cancer in 1998. After his death, she began writing the syndicated “Weekend Gardener” column that had been his. Today that column is published in about 20 community newspapers across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Jeneen also shares a microphone with Louisville Courier-Journal columnist Bob Hill on a weekly radio show about gardening, WFPL’s Home Grown.
At home, Jeneen says she works hard to “walk the walk” by taking advantage of her home’s passive solar design, recycling as much as possible, and using glassware and cloth napkins to avoid paper waste.
