Bill Green & Lebowski Fest

Artist Bill Green stops short of calling himself a Lebowski Fest "founding dude", but he's had a lot to do with the event's success.

Based on the popular Coen brothers movie The Big Lebowski, Lebowski Fest kicked-off in Louisville in 2002. Since that time, Bill Green has been the designing dude of the event's eye-catching posters.

Celebrating its fifth year in 2007, Lebowski Fest now draws crowds to multiple cities - Louisville, Los Angeles and New York, among others. This year, the festival even launches in the United Kingdom.

In addition to creating his imaginative posters for the Lebowski Fest, Bill Green has also co-authored the new book I'm a Lebowski, You're a Lewbowski: Life, The Big Lebowski, and What-Have-You, published by Bloomsbury USA (2007). The book includes illustrations done by Green.

Before the fest came along, Green had done years of ad agency work. Today he is strictly a freelance artist.

Bill Green's Lebowski Fest posters remain popular collector's items and additions to many walls, in Louisville and around the world.
