Nestled in a Versailles, Ky. pasture stands a castle where you can live like royalty ... at least for a while.
CastlePost is a luxurious if not mysterious property in Lexington that has fascinated Kentuckians for decades. Today it operates as an upscale hotel.
Rex Martin Sr., a Lexington contractor, began building the castle as a private residence in 1969, but it was never completed. It sat vacant for more than 30 before being bought by attorney Tom Post for $1.8 million in 2003.
CastlePost has 16 guest rooms, 21 bathrooms, a library, ballroom, game room and many more amenities. It is open to overnight guests, weddings and charity fundraising events.
Louisville Life takes you beyond the castle walls for a peek at this new guest spot.
