Feature Story: Take a walk down memory lane as Louisville Life looks back at Fontaine Ferry Park. The park opened in 1905 and had four roller coasters, a Ferris wheel and a bicycle track among its attractions. Fontaine Ferry Park was so successful that it became one of the most famous parks in the country, operating close to 65 years before closing in 1969.
Guest: Candyce interviews architect and historian Steve Wiser about his new book, Louisville 2035. Hear his predictions for the next hot new residential and business districts, and learn about Louisville’s lost landmarks.
Around Town: Many people have been touched by the WHAS Crusade for Children, WHAS-TV’s annual telethon that raises money for agencies, schools and hospitals that serve children with special needs. We introduce you to some of them and bring you their amazing stories. Plus, from bucket brigades to horse-drawn tanks, help honor the 150-year history of the Louisville Fire Department, the third oldest fully-paid fire department in the country.
Etc.: In Etcetera, we continue the sesquicentennial celebrations with a spotlight on the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, a congregation of women which has a rich history in Louisville dating back to 1858.
