Craig Kaviar, Blacksmith & Sculptor
Kaviar Forge is a combination sculpture garden, studio and gallery.
Located on historic Frankfort Avenue, Kaviar Forge is where award-winning artist/blacksmith Craig Kaviar creates one-of-a-kind, hand-forged iron and bronze furniture, sculpture and architectural elements.
The Kaviar Gallery showcases the work of Craig Kaviar as well as other fine artists.
Louisville Life visits this venue for a first-hand look at how Craig is melting the hearts of art lovers across the country with his unique creations.
Craig Kaviar began his career in Port Washington, New York in 1970, training in stone and woodcarving. Later he received a formal art education at the School of The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts, receiving his BFA from Tufts University in 1978. His his first studio was set up in the town of Harvard, Massachusetts.
He moved with his wife to Kentucky in 1984, and Kaviar Forge has been located on Frankfort Avenue since 1985.
