Actors Theatre of Louisville's (ATL) Apprentice Program
The Apprentice Program at Actors Theatre of Louisville (ATL/) gives locals a chance to see tomorrow's stars today.
In 2010, its 39th year, the Acting Apprentice Company is one of the nationís oldest continuing pre-professional companies. Each year thousands of young artists audition and 22 are chosen to spend a season-long residency at the Tony Award-winning home of the Humana Festival of New American Plays.
Through the program, acting apprentices partake in performance, training, observation and networking.
Some apprentices go on to careers as actors in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Some move into nationally-recognized MFA programs. Others start their own theatre companies or settle in other major national theatre markets.
The program is free for all participants.
In this "Louisville Life" feature, we meet take you behind the scenes of the program to learn more about how it works ... and spotlight some celebrity alumni.
