Tim King, The Louisville Orchestra
Tim King, Executive Director of The Louisville Orchestra, has spent almost twenty years in the arts here in Louisville. A graduate of both Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Louisville, Tim started his career here as a music teacher at Holy Spirit School. After four years teaching students in Kindergarten through the eighth grade, Tim assumed the position of Director of Education with The Louisville Orchestra and then Director of Operations. After 7 1/2 years with The Orchestra, Tim assumed the position of Vice President of Development with the Kentucky Center for the Arts where he stayed until assuming the role of Executive Director with The Louisville Orchestra in September of 1998. Since that time, The Orchestra has signed a three year agreement with the musicians, appointed their sixth music director, Uriel Segal, and won the first place ASCAP Award for programming while balancing their budget for the third year in a row.
