E Trio, Jazz Combo


E Trio

The jazz combo E Trio was formed in the spring of 1999 from among the participants in a weekly jam session. The group is dedicated to the modern jazz piano trio format as practiced by Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, Kenny Werner, and Fred Hersch.

Gary Claude

Chris Fitzgerald Todd Hildreth (piano) is a graduate of Bellarmine College. He has played at Lollapalooza and the Montreux Jazz Festival and toured Europe and the United States with various jazz and rock acts. Todd also founded the Java Men, a popular Louisville jazz trio, and is the first-call jazz pianist in the region.

Chris Fitzgerald (bass) graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in composition. He is an accomplished pianist as well as a bassist, and he teaches at U of L, Bellarmine, and Jefferson Community College.

Gary Claude (drums) is originally from Little Rock, AR and has a bachelor’s degree in percussion from U of L. He is the drummer for the acclaimed rock group The Pennies and is a featured performer at Bobby J’s club café.
