Rema Keen, Playwright/Actor

Rema Keen

Rema Keen is a woman with many talents. As a professional playwright, storyteller, actor, poet, activist, and musician, she has performed all over the United States and worked with many different arts companies, including the Barter Theatre, the Ballet for Young Audiences in New York City, Actors Guild, and Pleiades Theatre Company. Rema was also a member of Roadside Theatre, a national touring ensemble based at Appalshop in Whitesburg, KY. Most recently, she co-founded her own production company, Two Many Hats in Louisville.

As a performer, Rema takes her songs and stories of both real and imagined people to elementary, middle, and high schools; colleges; festivals and sanctuaries; and art, community, and senior centers. She comes by her entertaining talents naturally, having grown up in a family of storytellers.

Rema has a way of drawing you in as she tells her story. Her stories appeal to all audiences, and her shows are mobile and can adapt to any space. For booking information, contact her at

Rema Keen is a native of Buchanan County, Virginia. She graduated from Virginia Intermont College and trained for three years in the acting and technical fellowship programs at the State Theatre of Virginia.
