Kitty McAllister, Craft Marketing Program

Kitty McAllister has worked for the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program since 1998. As media, communications, and marketing coordinator for the Frankfort-based organization, she promotes the development and expansion of craft businesses, creates advertising and public relations campaigns, plans marketing strategies, develops media plans for state-sponsored trade shows, and markets events and program activities. She works with the press to publicize program activities and inform the general public; coordinates national and international promotions via trade shows and other marketing venues; oversees the design of trade-show booths as well as display, advertising, and promotion materials; and produces cooperative advertising and catalogs to expand the market reach of individual craft businesses.

Before Kitty moved back home to Kentucky, she worked in public relations and marketing in Abbeyville, SC. She was also the co-owner of a family real estate business for several years. In South Carolina, she served on the boards of several performing arts and tourism organizations: the South Carolina Ballet Theatre, the Greenwood Performing Arts Board, and the Abbeyville Visitor’s Council of the South Carolina Heritage Corridor.

Kitty graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1983 with a major in political science and a minor in economics.
