Fran Redmon, Kentucky Craft Marketing Program

Fran Redmon

Fran Redmon is the program director for the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program. Born and raised in Kentucky, she attended Woodford County High School, where she was co-valedictorian of her class. She graduated magna cum laude from Western Kentucky University with a B.F.A. in commercial art.

As a part of the Craft Marketing Program since 1981, and program director since 1987, Fran has presented dozens of craft marketing workshops to groups across Kentucky. She also has provided technical assistance to craft programs in other states, including serving as a national presenter at the New York International Gift Fair.

Fran also has been involved with several government committees, including the Cultural Tourism Committee, the State Fair Cultural Exhibition, and the Kentucky Catalog Legislative Task Force. She has held leadership positions in many organizations, including a governorís appointment to the Knott County Arts & Crafts Foundation Board, and has served on the national advisory council of the Kentucky School of Craft in Hindman, the advisory council for Gateway Artisanís Center in Berea, and many other boards.

We have also sent our Mixed Media cameras out to visit artist Pat Gerhard owner of Third Street Stuff. (#319)
