Linda Hargan, Collaborative for Teaching and Learning

Linda Hargan

Linda Hargan is executive director of the Collaborative for Teaching and Learning, a nonprofit organization established to support school success with reform initiatives. In this capacity, she oversees the full range of organizational functions and directs the management and delivery of the collaborative’s educational functions, including overseeing budget management, establishing partnerships with various organizations, directing the pursuit of funding sources, and representing the CFTL to partners and constituency groups in Kentucky, regionally, and nationally.

Before coming to the collaborative, Linda served as associate commissioner in the Office of Learning Programs Development at the Kentucky Department of Education, where she directed the Preschool Education, Primary Education, Professional Development, School-Based Decision Making, and Student/Family Support Services divisions and was the director of special education. Linda is also a former executive director of the Ohio Valley Education Cooperative, a regional service agency comprising 13 school districts.

Linda has taught elementary, high school, and college-level courses and has done extensive state and national consulting work in various systemic reform components. She received her doctorate in education administration from the University of Louisville.

She is married, has two adult children, and lives in Louisville.
