Gerald McDaniel, Author

Gerald

Attorney and writer Gerald McDaniel, born November 20, 1936, is a lifetime resident of Louisville. He is a widower; his wife, Sue, died in 1997.

Gerald received both his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Louisville, then practiced law in a private firm for a number of years. Since 1995, he has served as an Assistant Jefferson County Attorney for the Child Support Division.

Writing historical fiction gives him the unique opportunity to entertain and inform, he says. Gerald believes that a compelling story with complex characters, set amid historical events that have shaped our society, can engage the interest of any reader. Aindreas: The Messenger, published in June 2000, is his first book. He plans several more novels following the adventures of his central character, an Irish Catholic boy growing up in Louisville in the mid-19th century.
