Amelia Blossom Pegram, Poet

Amelia Blossom Pegram Amelia Blossom Pegram is a lady of many talents: teacher, writer, poet, and performer. Since relocating to the United States from South Africa in 1972, she has continued teaching, studying, and performing, adding musical and/or dance accompaniment to her spoken-word performances.

While living in Kentucky, Amelia has become closely involved with the African American Cultural Centre and has actively raised funds on its behalf. Her firsthand experience of the struggle and pain endured by many in South Africa has been transferred to addressing the issue of social inequity in North America. Amelia uses her considerable writing skills to raise awareness of the issues and to educate people who may not be aware of the situation in their own countries.
