Lucia Montero, Lexington Ballet


Lucia Montero Lucia Montero was named school director of the Lexington Ballet in 1998.

A native of Venezuela, Lucia started her ballet training in Maracaibo with Matilda Pierrefeu and the Bellas Artes School of Ballet. By the age of 15, she was performing professionally with the Ballet of Zulia. Her repertory now includes Swan Lake, Giselle, Don Quixote, Raymonda, The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Esmeralde, and Coppelia. Lucia has danced with the Maracaibo Ballet, The New Company, Dance Theatre West, Nevada Dance Theatre, and Ballet Nova.

A versatile performer, she has also danced in A Chorus Line, West Side Story, and Spellbound, working with a variety of neo-classical and contemporary choreographers. She was resident director-choreographer of Jean Ann Ryan Productions in South Florida from 1995 to 1997.
