Curran Copeland, Toy Maker


Curran Copeland is a third-generation woodworker who has been building wooden toys and games since he was old enough to operate a hand saw. He received a bachelorís degree in industrial arts from Western Kentucky University.

In 1993, Curran and his wife started a small business called Sweet Sawdust. They joined the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program in 1997 and started displaying at the Louisville Visual Arts Gallery and the Kentucky Arts and Crafts Gallery. In 1998, Curran quit his job with Louisville Disaster and Emergency Services, sold his house, and moved to Cadiz to work full-time at toy making.
