Hugh Peterson, drummer
Hugh Peterson is from St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. As a youth, he played professionally at age 14, recording and traveling with the Archie Thomas Orchestra Playboys and the Desperado Steel Band. After high school, Hugh received scholarships to both Julliard and New York Berklee College of Music, where he received a B.A. and Performance Degree.
As an educator, Hugh has taught at Columbia, Barnard College, Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Presently, Hugh resides in Louisville, where he teaches at Flying Hands School of Music on Bardstown Road. Hugh music is also available on CD. He is the featured artist on The Matt Kendrick Unit CD Art/Jazz.
