Christine Kuhn, Artist/Educator

Christine Kuhn painting Christine Kuhn Christine Kuhn is an artist and educator. As a painter, she works in a medium known as encaustic. She also teaches art classes at Lexington’s Living Arts and Science Center. In addition, Christine is the art manager for Minds Wide Open Art Center.

Christine has always wanted to become a painter, from the time she was just a child. At 16, though, she enrolled in college to study chemistry and biology. Inevitably, a nagging sense that she should stay true to her dreams ultimately won out, and Christine inched her way back toward art.

As an artist, Christine derives much of her inspiration from two main sources: beautiful drawings and nature. She strives to give her work a sense of mystery or of deeper meaning by having it deeply embedded in and emerging from the patterns, textures, and colors of nature.
