Stick Click

Stick Click is a Louisville-based percussion duo.

Mark Tate Mark Tate began performing with the Louisville Orchestra in 1983. He is also a percussionist with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, the Louisville Chorus, and the Louisville Choral Arts Society; a frequent free-lancer with various church and chamber groups; and the drummer for the Louisville Dixieland Band and the Memphis Red Hots, a Western swing band based in Louisville. Mark is a percussion instructor at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Bellarmine University in Louisville, and Georgetown (KY) College. In addition, he teaches concert percussion at Ballard, Eastern, and Atherton high schools in Louisville; teaches concert percussion and serves as percussion consultant at North Hardin high school; and teaches both marching and concert percussion at Oldham County High School and South Oldham High School. He is the creator of the Louisville Institute of Drumming and Stick Click.

John His partner in both endeavors, John Harris, has taught percussion on the collegiate level at Iowa State University, the University of South Dakota, Simpson College, Central College, Grinnell College, Coe College, Kirkwood Community College, Cornell College, and Dana College and on the high school level at Cedar Rapids Jefferson (IA); Lincoln East (NE); Sioux Falls Lincoln (SD); and La Vergne, Glencliff, and Franklin in Tennessee. He is the percussion consultant at Larue County and Oldham County high schools. John was involved in drum and bugle corps activity in Iowa from 1987 to 1990 as an instructor for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque and the Emerald Knights Drum and Bugle Corps from Cedar Rapids. He now lives in Louisville and is pursuing a career as a free-lance percussionist.
