Tim Brumfield, Pianist

Tim Brumfield Tim Brumfield has been delighting audiences since beginning his professional career at age 12 as church pianist at the Red House Baptist Church in his hometown of Richmond, KY. He is the son of a musical family, and his classical training often works hand in hand with the improvisational roots planted by his father, Donald—a gifted, self-trained musician. Equally at ease as pianist, organist, composer, arranger, and producer, Tim has left no aspect of the musical scene unexplored.

His mastery shows on his 2002 release, Kentucky Serenade, which he co-produced for his own label, HeartScapes Music Group. From the country/pop rhythms of “A Place Called Old Kentucky” to the New Age/inspirational flavor of “Morning Glory” to the classical overtones and soaring majesty of “Moon at Stoney Run,” the Tim Brumfield catalog is proving itself to be as varied as any in the industry. A gifted arranger, Tim also breathes new life into old standards such as “My Old Kentucky Home,” “Beautiful Dreamer,” and “Shall We Gather at the River/Simple Gifts.” Having stayed very close to his Kentucky roots, Tim takes particular pride in offering Kentucky Serenade as a heartfelt musical tribute to his beautiful home state.
