Christina Ramsey, Artist

Christina Ramsey

Christina Ramsey’s art has been described as unique, original, organic, fun, whimsical, wild, erotic, colorful, symbolic, and tribal. Her jewelry is also contemporary and stylish.

artworkThis 31-year-old artist/designer has been creating since a very early age. She began her art career at the age of 15, selling commissioned drawings, logos, and paintings as well as her own original jewelry designs. And as a high school student in Richmond, Christina was honored as one of the most talented young artists in the state when she was one of a select few chosen from thousands of applicants for the first Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts.

artworkChristina enrolled in her first metalsmithing course at 16. Shape and form became dominant themes in her art, along with vivid color and texture. The pendants and brooches began to evolve into large, colorful, and often abstract wall sculptures and murals.

Since graduating with a bachelor of arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University, Christina has been honored with awards and exhibits for her sculpture in Cleveland and Connecticut, where she lived before moving to Louisville in 1999. In 2001, she launched a web site, Little Bitty Designs, as an online portfolio showcasing her art and jewelry to a global audience. She continues to focus on large, abstract, acrylic painting; mixed-media sculpture; and fashion jewelry and is working on incorporating new media and ideas into her ever-changing style of art.
