Delaire Rowe Finley

Delaire Rowe Finley Delaire Rowe Finley began her art career at Western Kentucky University. She has served as an artist-in-residence for the Kentucky Arts Council and VSA Kentucky, an instructor in the WKU Department of Art, and an artist/trainer for the Kentucky Collaborative for Teaching and Learning and the Center for Gifted Studies at WKU.

Delaire’s paintings, drawings, and prints have been exhibited throughout the region and the U.S. as well as in Europe and Japan. Her work is held in private and corporate collections, and she has received numerous awards through her work with young children.

Her painting style is fluid, demonstrating a love of materials, color, and mark making. Delaire draws her subjects from direct observation, then often manipulates the drawing into abstraction. People, places, and things are all part of her vision.

Most recently, Delaire’s own creations have been influenced by her work with children, as artist-in-residence with the Warren County Public Schools.
