painting by Christy Zurkuhlen
Painter Christy Zurkuhlen is a member of the American Association of Portrait Artists.

Artist’s Statement:

“As an artist, I specialize in portraits, racing, and equine art. I have always enjoyed painting people and the classical figure. I often do portraits of people of no special distinction, just because something clicks within me and I find it important to do that painting.

“I feel that the art of portraiture is very important to us all. I have depicted people at certain times of their life and amidst certain important decisions. I feel that my portrait art conveys those feelings to the viewer. Capturing the spirit of that person is very important to me.”
