Kentucky Crafted: The Market

The Market

art glass plate Kentucky Crafted: The Market, held each year since 1982, is a combination wholesale/retail event featuring 300 exhibitors of the state’s finest crafts, food products, books, and musical recordings. The market is a rare opportunity for buyers to order directly from the producers of traditional and contemporary Kentucky crafts and folk art.

This annual showcase is a project of the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program, a state agency that’s part of the Kentucky Arts Council in the Education, Arts and Humanities Cabinet. Since its inception, the Craft Marketing Program has been heralded for its pioneering efforts in raising the visibility of the state’s artisans and their products around the United States and the world. Kentucky is one of the few states that supports its craft industry in this way. As part of the planning process that sets activities and goals for the program, the KAC holds public forums where citizens can contribute their own ideas.
