Sandra Dutton, Writer/Illustrator


Sandra Dutton is an award-winning painter and quilter whose work has been shown in San Francisco, Atlanta, and New York. She was named one of San Francisco’s most talented designers by Taylor & Ng for her contemporary designs. At present she is working mostly in illustration, using pen and ink, watercolor, or mixed media.

Sandra is also a writer. Her first book for children, The Magic of Myrna C. Waxweather, was named to “Pick of the Lists” by American Bookseller. A more recent release from Farrar, Straus & Giroux is Capp Street Carnival. Sandra’s play Meg and the Toasted O’s Adventure (renamed Just a Matter of Time) was produced by Horse Cave Theatre for its annual Kentucky Voices project. She also has illustrated two of her own books and is at work on several others.
