Elizabeth George, Louisville Visual Art Association


Elizabeth George Elizabeth George brings a wealth of experience in business, marketing, and education to the Louisville Visual Art Association, where she took on the role of executive director in May 2003.

A 1986 graduate of Indiana University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in marketing, Elizabeth completed a retail banking program in Louisville and then moved to New York to begin a career in financial services. Her first stop was at Coopers & Lybrand, where she coordinated national recruitment efforts and was co-developer of a minority scholarship program.

Elizabeth then spent six years at Merrill Lynch, beginning in its New York headquarters. Her job took her on regular visits to the nation’s top 25 schools to recruit graduates for the firm’s top-rated investment banking program. She was later promoted to work in ML’s London office, where she created and led a corporate education function for a European division.

In 2000, Elizabeth left Merrill Lynch to become a consultant to top multi-national organizations in the areas of facilitation and organizational development. She has spoken at conferences in London, Amsterdam, and Louisville and returned to Louisville to live in 2002.
