Zoé Strecker, Sculptor
Zoé Strecker is a sculptor and writer who lives and works on a farm in Mercer County near the Kentucky River with her husband, potter Mike Frasca, and their two young daughters. Since 1990, she has been creating site-specific sculptures for public places like museums, schools, libraries, health clinics, parks, and churches in Kentucky, Colorado, Alaska, and Tennessee. She also makes smaller-scale works for public and private exhibition and collection. Currently she is working on designs and proposals for new public projects as well as more experimental gallery-oriented pieces. Zoé received a masters degree in sculpture from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 1997. Her undergraduate degree was in English literature, from Grinnell College in Iowa in 1988.
