Louisville native Brenda Wirth has enjoyed a fulfilling career painting natural landscapes for over twenty years. Trees, vegetation, riverbeds, creeks, sky, rocks, and their relationship to each other inspire Wirth’s work. Her paintings are almost always vertical in format to enhance the metaphoric relationship of human existence to the apparent struggles between these natural forces.

Brenda hopes that her work engages the viewer in multiple experiences: “stepping through” the painting into the environment which inspired it, picking up the details of stone and leaf, looking at the ground at one’s feet in new ways, and enjoying the liveliness of color and light that she sees when she paints.

Later this fall you can feel the vibrancy of her translucent paintings in person. Zephyr Gallery will be exhibiting her works beginning October 15 thru December 11, so mark your calendars!
