Melís fun-filled First Friday Gallery Hop journey started in conversation with Barry Barker, executive director of TARC (the Transit Authority of River City), whose trolleys supplied the eveningís transportation. Over 30,000 passengers have been abroad since the gallery hop's first debut. Then she visited the Zephyr Gallery, a cooperative venture that is owned, operated, and staffed by its artists. Mel talks with featured artist Sharon Weis about her work in the gallery hop. Next on her itinerary was another co-op ventureóthe PYRO Gallery, a fire station turned gallery, headed by Erin Devine. This artist co-op is home to local artist working in ceramics, sculpture, photography, fiber, mixed media, and more.
