Contemporary landscape artist Elsie Kay Harris first started drawing the Appalachian deep mountains in her younger years. Now, she says, she focuses on the soft Kentucky slopes. Her work has been published in Acrylic Painting and Landscape Inspirations, and examples can be found in private and public collections across the United States and abroad.
Among her many accomplishments, Elsie has designed and produced large-scale murals and ballet and stage productions; worked as a graphic artist for KET; and served on the Lexington Arts and Cultural Council. She is a past president of the Lexington Art League, chaired the LALs Endowment Fund, and for years represented her fellow visual artists with the craft marketing program of the Kentucky Arts Council.
