The Explorium of Lexington, formerly known as the Lexington Children’s Museum, was founded in 1990, making it one of the oldest children’s museums in the country. Located in the heart of downtown Lexington, it draws an average of 85,000 visitors annually with compelling interactive exhibits and activities. The new name was adopted in 2004 to better reflect that dynamic quality: The Explorium aims to provide an inspiring, fun learning experience for the entire family.
