Paul K and the Weathermen
![]() Paul Kopasz (better known as Paul K), a Detroit native, produced a number of cassettes in the late 1980s, but surfaced only with Patriots (Shrunken Stomach, 1988) and its 17-minute title track. Hes had somewhat better luck since moving to Louisville, where his Weathermen have become a staple of the folk and blues clubs. Pauls songwriting, which draws on influences like Lou Reed and Gram Parsons, remains one of the bands main attractions. The Weathermens hits include Garden of Forking Paths, Corpus, and Love Is a Gas, and the band continues to tour and perform across the United States and overseas.
