![]() The Gheens Extraordinary Young Artists Project at the Kentucky Center in Louisville celebrates the classical music stars of tomorrow. The project brings the best and brightest young classical musicians from around the globe to Louisville to perform and interact with young musicians from the community. Euntaek Kim, a 17-year-old piano prodigy from Korea, visited Louisville in the spring of 2005 to perform Schuberts Trout Quintet with several members of the Louisville Youth Orchestra. Since 2001, Kim has been enrolled at the Juilliard School, where his honors include the coveted Presidential Distinction, the highest ranking among piano applicantsa rare feat for the youngest student in the department. He is studying with piano great Jerome Lowenthal.
