Lexington conceptual artist Louie Zoellar Bickett collects and catalogs material such as dirt from Civil War battlefields, trash from the streets of Lexington, samples from various bodies of water, and other forms of debris. His assemblages confront the methods we use to memorialize the past and the development of our own personal and social histories.
