Silas House is one of Kentucky’s best-known contemporary writers. After winning critical and popular acclaim for several novels set in his native Eastern Kentucky, he tried his hand at playwrighting with The Hurting Part, an emotional drama centered on visions of the past and a longing for home. The work was staged at the University of Kentucky’s Guignol Theatre in December 2005.
