Chip Polston with Yolantha Harrison-Pace

Cari Norris visits Mixed Media this week to promote her release In and Out of the Garden. A singer and player of Appalachian roots music, Cari is accompanied by her husband, Jim McGee, as well as Dan Boone, Jimmy Brown, and Gary Stillwell.

Next, educator and dance poet Yolantha Harrison-Pace performs excerpts from two of her original pieces. “The Bus Ride,” from Winged Plucked Butterfly, depicts one woman’s war on hate crimes against women and children. An American Love Affair is based on the life and times of one of America’s first advertising icons, Aunt Jemima; the contributions she made to the advertising industry; and her impact on the nation’s social perceptions.

To wrap things up, we also take a quick look back at the 2003 edition of Kentucky Crafted: The Market, showcasing some of the Kentucky-made arts and crafts on display at this nationally recognized showcase.
