Scott Mullins and Chip Polston

This special one-hour edition of Mixed Media, produced in conjunction with the premiere of the seven-part film series The Blues on PBS, dives into the local blues heritage with documentary segments on Kentucky’s blues connections, including the time founding father W.C. Handy spent in Henderson.

Chip also interviews Louisville radio producer Scott Mullins, who has been hosting the Saturday Night Blues Party since the mid-’80s.

And of course there’s music: in-studio performances by the Walnut Street Blues Band and by Lamont Gillispie and the One Hundred Proof Blues Band.
