Henderson resident Becky Collings begins this holiday-themed program with a dollmaking demonstration. Her appreciation for artand holidaysis expressed in her projects, which began years ago with Santas made of foil and bread and now include angels and wizards made of polymer clay. Becky has taught seasonal classes at the John James Audubon Museum, and her lessons on making folk-art Santas are popular in the area.
Next, Mel continues the focus on holiday art with a look at some out-of-the-ordinary decorations created by several Louisville designers.
The musical magic for the program comes from Louisvilles Coterie, a 10-member vocal ensemble that began performing in 1989. The bands name means circle of friends, which also describes the groups members. They perform both sacred and secular music, with styles ranging from Renaissance to modern pop. Recently returned from a tour of England and Scotland, they visit the Mixed Media set to perform songs from their Christmas CD.
