The first guest on our program is mystery writer Laurien Berenson. Laurien writes the Melanie Travis book series, featuring the continuing adventures of a dog enthusiast whose showcase poodles get her involved in some pretty interesting detective work. Laurien discusses the series, her dual interests in dogs and the mystery novel, and the list of other breeds she would like to include in future books.
Next, our cameras tour Flame Run, a studio and gallery in Louisville that has a 7,500-square-foot glassblowing facility. Seven glass artists share the space and offer classes in glassblowing, kiln casting, and sand casting. We will speak with three of the artists working at Flame Run, as they discuss their passion for the art of glass.
Our first musical performance comes from Louisville singer/songwriter John Mann. John and his band, featuring Marc Jones, David Nofsinger, and Randy Arnold, will play a selection from John’s debut album, Bourbon Holiday. We’ll finish the program with a performance from The Betweeners, an acoustic band that plays original American roots music, blending elements of bluegrass, blues, swing, and soul. The band will perform a song from their album Matador Karma.
